Camp Policies

Our goal is to promote children’s love of bike riding by providing a safe and fun learning environment while giving them the tools to continue to grow their riding skills. Here are our policies and requirments to help our campers learn in a safe environment.

If you are new to The Wheel Mill, a completed waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian before the beginning of summer camp. If a parent or guardian is not present the waiver must be notarized. OTHER ADULTS CANNOT SIGN FOR SOMEONE ELSE’S CHILD. Click this LINK for a downloadable waiver.

Returns/Camp Cancellation/Removal of rider

In order to keep our instructor ratio low, we do not overbook our camps. For that reason, there are no refunds for cancellation. You will receive park credit if you cancel camp 2 weeks prior to the starting date of your camp. After 2 weeks, no credit will be given. If something comes up and you’re not able to make camp, email Mike@thewheelmill.com.

For a camp to run, there must be 5 riders registered. We will contact you 1 week in advanced if a camp has to be cancelled. You will receive a full refund or a credit for another week that is running.

There are no returns for a missed day(s) of camp.

We reserve the right to send your child home from camp if being disruptive of class. If your child is sent home, there will be no refund.

We take safety very serious at the park. There is a variety of ways we do our best to keep campers safe during their time at the park.

– Clearly marked trails. All of our trails are marked with difficulty markers. We use this to guide our campers to the courses in the ability level.

– Protective gear. Campers must wear helmets at all times while riding. We also encourage elbow, knee and shin pads.

– Evaluation of riders. We want your child to have the best time at camp! If a rider is a danger or major distraction to other campers, we reserve the right to remove them from camp.

– All of our staff members have current first aid/CPR certifications.

Act 33/34 Clearances

All of our staff have current Act 33/34 clearances.

Bullying Policy

We do not tolerate bullying. If a child is bullying they will be (1) warned, (2) removed from class for a time out, (3) sent home without refund.

Cell Phone/Electronics Policy

Your child can bring personal items like a cell phone, iPad, etc. They can only use them during breaks and free time.  We do not allow them in class. We recommend locking them up in our lockers while not using them. Please bring a lock.

General Skill Requirement

Your child must be able to ride a bike on their own in order to attend class.
