Opened in the spring of 2013, The Wheel Mill is the brainchild of owner Harry Geyer and has come together thanks to collaboration and volunteer work from the local cycling community. The 80,000 square foot park is full of ramps and trails of all kinds, many of which have been designed and built by local trail legends. We work to make our trails and jump lines as organic as possible, with both natural-feeling designs and materials. With a commitment to sustainability, nearly 75% of the park features are assembled from reclaimed lumber and materials.
We strive to be a hub for cycling in Pittsburgh, providing a space for mountain bikers, BMXers, and even unicycle riders (really!) of all ages and skill levels. From events geared toward kids on balance bikes and jams that bring in some of the best riders in the area, to city cycling clinics and women’s weekends, we’ve got something for everyone. 8 rooms in the park offer all kinds of terrain, with varying levels of difficulty; we have several jump lines, a pump track, multiple mountain bike rooms and trails, a park room, a 6′ mini ramp, and a foam pit and resi ramp. Beginners can take classes and practice skills in the fundamental skills room. The Wheel Mill welcomes riders of all skill levels, and offers a welcoming atmosphere for people from all walks of the cycling community.
