    Summer Bike Camp

    Sign up online HERE (click events and pick your desired week. If registering two or more campers, please do separate transactions).

    Our camps are a week long morning and/or afternoon bicycling camp to encompass all forms and skill level of cycling. Taught by local professionals for students from 5-17 years old. Riders 7 and under are permitted in morning sessions only and riders over 12 are encouraged to enroll in the afternoon sessions. The camp includes 2 hours of instruction per day and 1 hour of practice overseen by the instructor. Campers may stay after for the remainder of the day (Late Pickup) to ride and practice on their own for an additional fee (Unless they are 7 and under).

    Camps and Curriculum

    ***All campers must be able to ride a bike on their own in order to attend camp.

    Camp

    Campers  will learn general bike skill, bike safety, bike maintenance, park etiquette and cycling/stunt vocabulary. Campers will better their basic riding skills of pump, balance, speed control, jump, ride over and stopping. Once campers have mastered the basics, our instructors will move them onto riding new courses and ramps, learning intermediate or expert handling skills, learning new tricks and working on their freestyle foundations.

    Returners Camp

    Returners Camp will continue where our camp leaves off. We will start with a refresher of the basics and continue on through intermediate skills until they are mastered. From there, we will move onto expert skills.

    Advanced Camp

    Advanced Camp is for the kind of rider that loves to ride and never stops! It’s an intermediate to expert level camp where riders will have the freedom to grow on skills that they choose. Instructors will ride with campers and help them learn and complete their goals.

    Girls Camp

    Girls Camp will be a section of Week 9 Camp (August 14th-18th) for just girls taught by Carley Young. This camp is designed to teach riders everything about BMX including how to have fun riding BMX. Five days of coaching to evaluate your riders skills, help them become faster, more confident and love to ride their bike.

    Summer Bike Camp 2017

    We will be offering 9 weeks of Summer Bike Camp. Each week has a morning (9am-12pm) and an afternoon (1pm-4pm) session.  Our 5 day camp is $229.99 + tax with the Late Pickup option for $279.99 + tax.     Week 4: July 10th-14th Camp and Advanced Camp

    Week 5: July 17th-21st Camp and Advanced Camp

    Week 6: July 24th-28th Camp, Advanced Camp and Returners Camp

    Week 7: July 31st-August 4th Camp and Returners Camp

    Week 8: August 7th-11th Camp and Returners Camp

    Week 9: August 14th-18th Camp, Girls Camp and Returners Camp

    *Classes must have 5 riders to run.

    What to Expect

    Waiver

    If you are new to The Wheel Mill, a completed waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian before the beginning of summer camp. If a parent or guardian is not present the waiver must be notarized. OTHER ADULTS CANNOT SIGN FOR SOMEONE ELSE’S CHILD. Click this LINK for a downloadable waiver.

    What to Bring

    Bring whatever makes you comfortable but here is a list of some must haves:

    – Helmet *

    – Bike*

    – Pads

    – Riding Shoes

    – Water and Snacks

    – Lock for lockers

    *Mandatory

    If you don’t own a bike, helmet, and/or pads we offer a limited amount of rentals for campers. For the week, bikes are $60 + Tax, helmets are $25 + Tax, and pads are $25 + Tax. To guarantee rentals, please email Mike@thewheelmill.com to reserve rental equipment.

    We offer a wide variety of snacks and drinks. If your camper does not pack food, we recommend you putting money on their account to buy from our shop.

    Prerequisite

    Camp

    Your child must be able to ride a bike on their own in order to attend class. They will learn more in-depth skills at the camp according to their experience level. If you would like a learn to ride lessons for your child, we offer private lessons. Contact Mike@thewheelmill.com to book.

    Returners Camp

    Must have completed a week of camp or have approval from camp director. Email Mike@thewheelmill.com to check if this camp is right for your rider.

    Advanced Camp

    Must be an avid rider. We usually suggest that the rider is able to drop-in, jump and pump. Email Mike@thewheelmill.com to check if this camp is right for your rider

    Returns/Camp Cancellation/Removal of rider

    Returns for The Wheel Mill Summer Camp are only valid two weeks before camp begins. Credit will be issued in the form of The Wheel Mill Park Credit. There will be no refund there after. If something comes up and you’re not able to make camp, email Mike@thewheelmill.com.

    For a camp to run, there must be 5 riders registered. We will contact you 1 week in advanced if a camp has to be cancelled. You will receive a full refund or a credit for another week that is running.

    There is no returns for a missed day(s) of camp.

    We hold the right to send your child home from camp if being disruptive of class. If your child is sent home, there will be no refund.

    Bike Skill Lessons

    Private lessons are available for beginner and intermediate level riders. Our instructors are seasoned bike riders with years of experience. They have the knowledge and the experience to help you get your riding to the next level. We offer Mountain Bike, BMX and general bike skill lessons.

    Learn to Ride Lessons

    Never got to learning bike riding? Is your child struggling to learn how to ride? We can help! We have successfully taught hundreds of people to ride a bike. Message us today about booking a lesson.

    Details

    – Private lessons are $50 + tax an hour and includes a day pass for riding after instruction. If you are a season pass holder save $10 off your lesson.

    – Rental Bike, helmet and pads are available for an additional fee.

    – There is a one hour minimum for all private lessons.

    – Must be booked 48 hours in advance.

    – All lessons must be paid for at the time of booking.

    – All guests must have a valid waiver to be admitted for entry. If the rider is under 18, please check our waiver section HERE.

    – Any cancellation within 48 hours of the lesson is non-refundable or transferable.

    – Please show up 15 minutes before your lesson to get set up.
